WOOCOMMERCE DEVELOPER

A WooCommerce developer with live stores to show, not a portfolio of templates.

I build and look after WooCommerce stores that real businesses run every day: a 160-year-old Louisville cutlery retailer, a small-batch bourbon distillery shipping direct to customers, my own 630-product print-on-demand brand. Custom checkout rules, point-of-sale sync, speed work and the plugins that make a store behave, all from one developer you can call.

WHAT YOU GET

One developer. The whole store.

A WooCommerce store is not a theme plus a plugin list. It is product data that has to be right, a checkout that has to be fast and honest, shipping and tax that match how you actually ship, and rules the business needs that no setting provides. I do all of it, in code when it has to be code, and I keep doing it after launch because I host and maintain what I build.

WOOCOMMERCE DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Six things a store needs that a template does not give you.

Build

Custom store builds

Designed around your products and your customers, built on WordPress and WooCommerce with native blocks, no page builder lock-in. Fast on a phone, because that is where most of your shoppers are.

Rules

Checkout rules written in code

Per-product limits, who can buy what, deposits, named gift recipients, approval steps. When WooCommerce has no setting for the rule your business runs on, I write the plugin that enforces it.

Register

Point-of-sale sync

Your Clover register and your website agreeing on inventory without anyone retyping numbers. Running today between a distillery’s till and its online store.

Connect

Integrations

Print-on-demand suppliers, booking systems, email platforms, payment gateways and the odd piece of software only your industry uses, connected so orders flow without a person in the middle.

Speed

Performance and hosting

Stores on my own dedicated server behind Cloudflare, with full-page caching that still respects carts and checkouts. Fast enough that the store never costs you a sale while a page loads.

Rescue

Repairs and takeovers

Stores that another developer left half finished, stores that break on update, stores that have simply stopped selling. I read the code, tell you what I found, and fix what is worth fixing.

LIVE STORES

Stores I built, and still run.

Heimerdinger Cutlery put a 160-year-old Louisville counter online, with a product catalogue a family retailer can keep up with. Shop Peerless ships small-batch bourbon direct to consumers with per-product bottle limits enforced in the cart and inventory that matches the distillery’s Clover register. The Island Earth is my own store: 630 print-on-demand products in five collections, so every WooCommerce decision I recommend is one I live with myself. Lucas Play moved 1,374 products, 1,763 photos and every category off an old WooCommerce store into a new shop with a sold archive, browsing by decade and a collector want list: read the Lucas Play case study. The method is written up as a WooCommerce migration guide.

CODE WHERE IT COUNTS

When the setting does not exist, I write it.

Most WooCommerce problems are not design problems. They are a rule the business runs on that the software has no checkbox for. At Kentucky Peerless that meant a sync that holds a doubtful product match for a person to confirm rather than silently creating a duplicate. At Cardinal Wings it meant gift experiences that carry a named recipient through checkout. At The Island Earth it meant a sticky purchase bar and real variation controls that stay fast with hundreds of products. That is the part of WooCommerce development that separates a developer from an installer.

HOW A STORE PROJECT RUNS

From product list to first order.

01

Scope it straight

Products, variations, shipping rules, payment, integrations and anything the store must enforce. You get a written scope and a flat quote before anything is built.

02

Build on a copy

The store comes together on a private staging site. You click through real products and a real checkout before anyone else sees it.

03

Test with real orders

Shipping rates, taxes, gateways, emails and every custom rule run against real test orders, on a phone and on a desk.

04

Launch and keep selling

Hosting, backups, updates and monitoring from the person who built it, so the store stays fast and keeps working after launch.

STRAIGHT TALK

What I will and will not promise.

No invented sales figures

I show you live stores and what they do. I do not quote percentages nobody can check.

Shopify when it fits

If your store is simpler than WooCommerce needs, I will say so and point you at the right tool.

Your store, outright

It runs on your hosting, with your accounts and your data. Nothing is rented from me.

Standards, not shortcuts

Custom code follows WooCommerce and WordPress coding standards and extends stable APIs.

Written down

Every custom rule is documented so another developer could pick it up tomorrow.

One person to call

The developer who built the store is the one who answers when something needs attention.

WOOCOMMERCE QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

What store owners ask before they hire a WooCommerce developer.

Straight answers to the first-call questions.

01

What does a WooCommerce developer actually do?

Everything between the product list and the money arriving: the store build, the product and variation setup, checkout rules the business needs, shipping and tax configuration, payment gateways, integrations with the register or the supplier, speed work and the plugins that make it all behave. A developer writes the code when a setting does not exist.

02

How much does it cost to hire a WooCommerce developer?

It depends on what the store has to do. A clean catalogue with standard shipping is a different job from a store with a point-of-sale sync and compliance rules. I quote a flat number from a written scope after one conversation, so you are never approving a figure attached to a vague idea.

03

Can you fix or take over a WooCommerce store someone else built?

Yes, and a lot of my work arrives that way. I read what is there first and tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or rebuilding. Either way nothing is thrown out until the replacement is proven on a copy of the site.

04

WooCommerce or Shopify?

If several of these are true, WooCommerce: you want to own the store outright, you need rules Shopify apps cannot enforce, you already run WordPress, or you want the register and the website sharing one inventory. I wrote up the honest comparison and I will tell you if Shopify is the better fit.

05

Will custom WooCommerce code break when WordPress updates?

Code written against WooCommerce’s documented hooks and APIs is stable; the stores here have run through years of updates. The real risk is a third-party plugin changing underneath it, which is exactly what my maintenance plans watch for.

06

Do you only work with Louisville businesses?

I am in Louisville, Kentucky and a lot of my clients are nearby, but this work happens over the phone, email and screen share, so I take it on from anywhere in the United States. Either way you are talking to the person doing the work.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Tell me what your store has to do.

Bring the product list, the shipping rules and the thing WooCommerce will not do for you. You will get a straight answer on what it takes, from the developer who would build it.
