Bourbon, shipped legally, sold beautifully.
Shop Peerless sells small-batch bourbon and rye direct to consumers. We built the compliance-heavy store that makes that possible, and keep it selling.
Exact screens, not mockups.
These are direct browser captures of the live site at 1440 and 390 pixels. Nothing redrawn, nothing staged.
Two legal ways to buy whiskey, one storefront, one register.
The work, piece by piece
Direct-to-consumer bourbon
A regulated product sold online with age verification and state-aware shipping rules.
Clover payments integration
Card processing wired into WooCommerce through the Clover gateway.
Compliance-aware checkout
Conditional shipping and payment logic keeps orders inside the rules, automatically.
Product photography
The bottle and cocktail photography on the store is ours, shot in studio and on site.
Marketing integrations
Mailchimp, automation, and product feeds keeping the brand in front of buyers.
Performance and security
A fast, hardened storefront that holds up on release days.
The hardest kind of e-commerce, done right
Alcohol e-commerce is where most agencies tap out: age gates, state rules, compliance shipping, and payment gateways that all have to agree. This store handles it every day, wrapped in the Peerless brand.
Two ways to buy whiskey legally, one storefront, and a register that agrees.
Selling bourbon online is a compliance problem before it is a design problem. Shop Peerless has to offer distillery pickup, direct shipping only where it is legal, and partner shipping through a licensed retailer, without ever letting a bottle fall into the wrong channel. Shaun Wilson Designs designed and runs the store and the systems that keep those channels apart.
The work ranges from the visible to the invisible: the storefront and catalogue, a payment gateway migration when the old processor was retired, custom styling of the new card fields, fraud screening, invisible reCAPTCHA, admin cleanup, and Cloudflare tuning across the Peerless domains.
Systems, fixes and the numbers behind them.
Compliance-aware fulfilment
Distillery pickup and direct shipping on the distillery’s own inventory, with shipping gated by state and routed through a compliance integration; partner shipping presented as its own catalogue and checkout.
Payment gateway migration
Moved from a retiring processor to Clover eCommerce, verified clean with no duplicate gateway, and styled the hosted card fields so they look native to the store.
Fraud screening
Pre-payment fraud scoring with blocking at high risk, alerts at medium risk, card-testing limits and invisible reCAPTCHA v3 on checkout.
Register-true inventory
The same hourly Clover sync that runs the brand site keeps the whiskey store honest about what is on the shelf.
Admin discipline
A must-use plugin hides plugin nags and setup prompts for everyone but the primary administrator, so staff see a clean dashboard.
Edge and TLS
Always-HTTPS, minimum TLS 1.2, Early Hints and edge caching through Cloudflare, verified on both Peerless stores.
From first call to launch
Listen first
Every project starts with the business, not the template.
Design and build
A premium WordPress site styled to the brand and fast on every device.
Shoot the visuals
Photography and video by the same person who builds the site.
Launch and support
Live, optimized, and supported for the long haul.
The nuts and bolts
How does age verification work?
The store gates entry and validates age in the purchase flow, backed by carrier-side checks on delivery.
What handles the payments?
Clover for WooCommerce, integrated with conditional shipping and payment rules.
Did you shoot the bottle photos?
Yes. The product, cocktail, and distillery photography across the Peerless brands is ours.
Can you build a regulated store for us?
Yes. If your product has rules, this is the playbook we have already run.
We like the hard ones.
Tell us what you sell and where it needs to ship, and we will map the store that gets it there legally.
