WORDPRESS MALWARE REMOVAL

WordPress malware removal that closes the door, not just the window.

Redirects, spam pages under your name, warnings in Google, a host threatening to suspend you. I clean hacked WordPress sites, find how the infection got in and shut that route, change every credential, then put the site behind a firewall and monitoring so it stays clean. Done by the developer who will answer the phone afterwards.

WHY CLEANUPS FAIL

A hacked site is a how question, not a what question.

Most malware removal deletes the files it can see and declares victory. Two weeks later the site is infected again, because the plugin with the hole is still installed, the stolen password still works, or a hidden back door was never found. Removal that sticks answers how it got in and fixes that, then watches for a repeat.

WHAT A CLEANUP INCLUDES

Six steps between infected and trustworthy again.

Find

Full infection scan

Every file compared against clean copies of WordPress, the theme and each plugin, the database searched for injected code and rogue users, and the server’s own scan results read.

Remove

Clean, from known-good copies

Compromised core, theme and plugin files replaced from official packages rather than hand-edited, injected database content removed, back doors and rogue admin accounts deleted.

Close

Shut the route in

The vulnerable plugin, weak password, exposed file or outdated component that let the attacker in is fixed or removed, so the same door does not open twice.

Reset

Every credential changed

WordPress users, database, hosting, FTP and API keys all rotated. A cleanup with the old passwords still live is not a cleanup.

Google

Index and warning cleanup

Hacked pages removed from Google, the security review requested in Search Console, and what Google shows for your business name watched until it is right.

Watch

Firewall and monitoring

Cloudflare and a server firewall in front, uptime and file monitoring behind, and tested daily backups stored off the server. If something changes, I hear about it before your customers do.

RECOVERED

A physician’s site, cleaned, rebuilt and cleared with Google.

Dr. Stephanie Moore’s website had been compromised and Google was showing pages that had nothing to do with her practice. The job was the full sequence: understand how it happened, remove the infection and the junk from the index, rebuild a fast, hardened site on my server, and request Google’s review. The case study walks through what the recovery produced. The first-hour guide is what I tell every owner who calls while it is happening.

HOW A CLEANUP RUNS

From the first call to a clean report.

01

Look, then quote

A quick read of the site, the host’s reports and what Google is showing, then a straight quote before any work starts.

02

Isolate and back up

A copy of the infected site is kept as evidence, the live site is put behind the firewall, and credentials are rotated immediately.

03

Clean and close

Files replaced from known-good copies, database cleaned, back doors and rogue users removed, and the route in fixed.

04

Verify and watch

Independent rescans, Google review requested, and monitoring left in place. You get a plain-English report of what was found and what changed.

STRAIGHT TALK

What I will and will not promise.

No guarantees of never again

Nobody honest promises a site can never be hacked. I can promise the route used this time is closed and that a repeat triggers an alert.

Rebuild when it is cheaper

If the site is so compromised or so old that cleaning costs more than rebuilding, I will say so and show the numbers.

Evidence kept

The infected copy is preserved so you can show your host, your insurer or your IT provider what happened.

Plain reporting

You get what was found, what was removed and what changed, in English, not a log file.

Your hosting is your choice

Cleanups happen on any host. Moving to my server is offered when it helps, never required.

One person

The person who cleans the site is the one who hardens it, watches it and answers the phone.

HACKED WORDPRESS QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

What owners ask while their site is being cleaned.

Short answers to the questions that come with a hacked site.

01

How do I know my WordPress site is hacked?

Common signs: Google shows pages or products you never wrote, often pharmacy or gambling terms; visitors are redirected somewhere else; your host or browser shows a warning; the admin has users you did not add; the site is suddenly slow or sending spam. Any one of those is worth a look today, not Monday.

02

How much does WordPress malware removal cost?

A straight quote after a quick look at the site, before any work starts. A single compromised plugin is a small job; a site that has been reinfecting itself for months and has pages in Google’s index is a bigger one. I tell you which you have before you pay for anything.

03

Will the malware just come back?

It does when only the visible files are cleaned. I remove the infection, close the door it came through, change every credential and put the site behind a firewall with monitoring, so a repeat shows up as an alert rather than a surprise.

04

What about the junk pages Google is showing under my name?

They get removed from the site and from Google: a review request in Search Console once the site is clean, removal of the hacked addresses from the index, and a watch on what Google shows for your business name afterwards. I wrote up how a full recovery and Google cleanup runs.

05

Can you clean a site you did not build, on another host?

Yes. Most of this work arrives from other hosts. If the hosting itself was part of the problem I will say so, and moving to my server is an option, not a condition.

06

Do you only work with Louisville businesses?

I am in Louisville, Kentucky and a lot of my clients are nearby, but this work happens over the phone, email and screen share, so I take it on from anywhere in the United States. Either way you are talking to the person doing the work.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Is your site hacked right now?

Send me the address and what you are seeing. You will get a straight answer the same day on what happened, what it takes to clean it properly and what it costs.
