Small business website design that earns its keep.
A small business website has one job: bring in the customers who are already looking for you. We design and build WordPress sites for small businesses in Louisville and across Kentucky, sized to the business and the budget, from one person who designs it, builds it, hosts it and answers the phone afterwards.
Six signs a small business has outgrown its website.
You are still Facebook-only
A Facebook page is not a website. Customers who search your name and find nothing you own assume you have closed.
The DIY builder ran out of road
Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy get you to the edge of your own ambition and stop. The next step is a real build.
Nobody finds you on Google
A site that does not rank for what you do, where you do it, is a brochure nobody hands out.
Your site says 2015
Customers judge a business by its website in seconds. A dated site tells them you stopped paying attention.
The phone stopped ringing
A website that never produces a lead is decoration. A small business site has to make the phone ring or the form fill.
You want one person to call
Not a ticket queue. The person who designed it, built it and hosts it, twenty minutes away.
Big-business quality. Small-business scope.
A solo law practice does not need what a distillery needs, and it should not pay for it. Every small business site here gets the same design, speed and search foundation as our largest builds, scoped to what the business actually needs, by the same person who will host it and pick up the phone afterwards.
Five small businesses, and what their websites do now.
Every site below is live today for a small business in Kentucky. A solo law practice, a wedding venue, a Louisville attorney, a barrel-craft maker and our own 3D print studio, each built to do one job well, and doing it.
A solo practice site, built lean and built right.
Not every business needs a flagship build. Todd Lewis Law needed a clean, affordable, professional site that gets the job done: who, what, where and how to call, done well, on the same fast WordPress foundation as our biggest builds. It now runs on our dedicated server behind Cloudflare, roughly five times faster than before, with off-site backups.
A venue website that sells the feeling of the day.
Old Mill Venue hosts weddings and events. The site leads with atmosphere, photographed on the ground and from the air, answers capacities, packages and logistics second, and moves every visitor toward booking a tour, because that is the order couples decide in.
It arrived with enquiry notifications landing in spam. That was fixed first, then the site was pointed at the Louisville searches that matter.
A law practice that looks as sharp as its counsel.
Justin Gooch Law needed a website that builds trust in the first five seconds. Clean, credible and mobile-first, with clear practice areas and a path to a consultation on every page, because most legal searches happen on a phone in a stressful moment.
The firm updates its own content without calling a developer for every change.
Barrel craft from bourbon country, sold to the world.
Bourbon Barrel Artisan turns retired barrels into handcrafted work. The site presents it like the premium product it is: big product imagery, clear pricing, easy ordering, and a store the maker can run between builds rather than as a second full-time job.
Our own small business, built on the tools we use for clients.
Cru Bear is our Louisville 3D printing business, and its site is where we prove the animation, caching and image conventions before they go on a client’s. It has to win the large-format work that pays and keep the small jobs that keep the printers busy.
The copy was written to qualify leads without turning anyone away, and it runs on the same dedicated server, behind Cloudflare, that hosts our client sites.

Ticket queues between you and the developer
Sized to the business. Built like the big ones.
Same design standard, same speed, same search foundation as our largest builds, scoped to what a small business actually needs and looked after by the person who built it.
What the work looks like on a desk, in a hand and on a phone.
Current desktop, detail and phone views of live small business sites. Nothing redrawn, nothing staged. Most still have me handling hosting, updates and the occasional 6 a.m. emergency.
Four steps from first call to first lead.
Listen
A real conversation about what the business needs the website to do, who it is for, and what has not worked before.

Clean, fast, secure WordPress on our own server, with AI-enhanced workflows keeping the timeline tight.
Launch & Care
Search setup, analytics and a launch checklist, then hosting and updates from the person who built it.
What small business owners ask before they hire a web designer.
How much does a small business website cost?
Scoped flat after a conversation about what the site has to do, so you have a clear number before any work starts. A solo practice site and an online store are priced very differently, and we will tell you which one you actually need, and what you do not.
Do I really need more than a Facebook page?
If customers search your name and find nothing you own, yes. A Facebook page is rented space. A website is the one place you control what people see, and the only one Google ranks for what you do.
How long does a small business website take?
Weeks, not months. Scope sets the schedule, you get a date up front, and a private staging link the whole way through.
Will people find it on Google?
It is built to be found: clean structure, fast pages, proper titles and schema, and search setup at launch. Ranking for competitive terms takes time and links, and we are honest about that rather than promising page one.
Can I update it myself?
Yes. It is built in the WordPress editor with native blocks, not a page builder that locks you in, and you get a walkthrough at handover.
Who hosts it, and who do I call?
We host it on our own dedicated server behind Cloudflare, and you call the person who built it. Hosting, updates and support are one relationship, not three.
