MOVE TO WORDPRESS

Move your website to WordPress and own it outright.

Outgrown Wix, Squarespace, the GoDaddy builder or Shopify? I move websites and stores onto WordPress and WooCommerce the careful way: content, images, products and customers carried over, every old address redirected so your Google rankings survive, and the new site faster than the old one. One person does the whole move and stays to look after it.

WHY PEOPLE MOVE

You rent a website builder. You own a WordPress site.

Builders are a fine way to start. Then the monthly fee keeps rising, the one feature you need is not in any plan, the site is slow on phones and you cannot take it anywhere else. WordPress runs most of the web because it does not have those walls: your site, your hosting, any feature, any developer. The move is a one-time job that ends the rent.

WHAT I MOVE

Four platforms, one careful process.

Wix

Wix to WordPress

No export exists, so pages are rebuilt with your content and images, posts are imported, and the design is done properly instead of traced. Most Wix sites come out noticeably faster.

Squarespace

Squarespace to WordPress

Pages and posts export; galleries, forms and custom blocks are rebuilt. Your domain moves with you and your email does not change.

GoDaddy

GoDaddy Website Builder to WordPress

Treated like Wix: a careful rebuild of every page, then redirects from every old address. Your GoDaddy domain stays yours and simply points at the new site.

Shopify

Shopify to WooCommerce

Products, variants, images, customers and order history imported; shipping, taxes and payments set up fresh and tested with real orders. The store becomes yours instead of rented.

Keep

Rankings, redirects and search

Every old URL mapped to its new one with a permanent redirect, titles and descriptions carried over, sitemap submitted and the change announced to Google. Nothing you earned is left behind.

After

Hosting and care

The new site lives on my dedicated server behind Cloudflare with backups, updates and monitoring, so the move is the last time you worry about the platform.

REBUILT WITHOUT LOSING GROUND

Moves and rebuilds that kept what they had earned.

Cardinal Wings Aviation’s redesign kept every address and every ranking while the whole site changed around them. Field of Screams moved from the site I built years earlier to a new one with season-aware tools, and still owns its searches every October. Heimerdinger Cutlery’s second phase rebuilt an established store without a day offline. Todd Lewis Law moved servers with all 41 pages verified afterwards. The process is the same whether the old site is WordPress, Wix or Shopify: map it, rebuild it, redirect it, verify it. Already on WooCommerce and only moving to a new site? Follow the WooCommerce migration guide.

HOW A MOVE RUNS

Nothing goes dark. Nothing gets lost.

01

Map the old site

Every page, post, product, image and address on the current site listed, along with what ranks and what the forms and email do today.

02

Build the new one privately

The WordPress site comes together on a private address while your old site keeps running. You review it page by page.

03

Switch and redirect

Your domain is pointed at the new site, every old address redirects to its new home, mail records are checked, and Google is told about the move.

04

Verify and care

Every page and redirect checked live, Search Console watched for the following weeks, then hosting and updates from the person who did the move.

STRAIGHT TALK

What a move can and cannot do.

Not a copy

The design is rebuilt properly in WordPress, not traced. It will look like your business, usually better, but not identical.

Some things need redoing

Builder-specific forms, apps and galleries have WordPress equivalents, set up fresh rather than converted.

Rankings kept, not boosted

Redirects preserve what you have earned. A faster, better-built site can grow from there, but the move itself is not an SEO trick.

Your domain stays yours

I never take ownership of a domain. It stays in your registrar account and points where you tell it.

Stay if it is right

If your builder genuinely fits what you need, I will tell you to stay. The move has to be worth it.

One person

The person who maps the old site is the person who builds, switches and looks after the new one.

MOVING TO WORDPRESS, ANSWERED

What people ask before leaving Wix, Squarespace or Shopify.

The questions that come up on the first call.

01

Can you move my Wix site to WordPress?

Yes. Wix has no real export, so the pages are rebuilt in WordPress with your content, images and structure carried over by hand and checked page by page. Blog posts can be imported. The result is a site you own, on hosting you control, that is usually faster than the one it replaces.

02

What about Squarespace or the GoDaddy website builder?

Squarespace exports pages and posts, which gives the move a head start; galleries and some blocks still need rebuilding. The GoDaddy builder exports nothing useful, so it is handled like Wix. In both cases the design is rebuilt properly rather than copied pixel for pixel.

03

Can you move a Shopify store to WooCommerce?

Yes. Products, variants, images, customers and order history come across through Shopify’s export and WooCommerce’s importer, then every product and the whole checkout are checked by hand. Shipping, taxes and payment gateways are set up fresh, because they never map one to one.

04

Will I lose my Google rankings when I move?

Not if the move is done properly. Every old address is mapped to its new one with a permanent redirect, titles and descriptions are carried over, and Google is told about the move in Search Console. Keeping rankings through a change is the heart of how I do website redesigns.

05

Will my email break?

No. Email runs on your domain’s mail records, which stay where they are. The only thing that changes is where the website points. I check the mail records before anything moves and again after.

06

Do you only work with Louisville businesses?

I am in Louisville, Kentucky and a lot of my clients are nearby, but this work happens over the phone, email and screen share, so I take it on from anywhere in the United States. Either way you are talking to the person doing the work.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

Ready to stop renting your website?

Send me the address of the site you have now and what it will not do for you. You will get a straight answer on what the move involves and whether it is worth it.
