FROM DIGITAL SCULPTURE TO THE MEETING TABLE
A large idea made tangible at 1:8 scale.
A sculptor needed a high-quality physical representation of a much larger planned installation. The original concept was designed at approximately one-and-a-half times life size.
The solution was a detailed 1:8 scale model measuring approximately 18 inches tall. It preserved the form and presence of the larger concept while making it practical to handle, transport, and share.
THREE-PART PRODUCTION
Printed for detail, assembled for presentation.
The size and complexity of the statue called for a three-part print strategy. Breaking the model into separate sections made it possible to protect fine detail and improve the reliability of each print.
After printing, the sections were assembled by the sculptor. The result was a presentation-ready object that communicated volume, proportion, and gesture more clearly than drawings or digital renderings alone.
