FROM DESIGN MODEL TO PRODUCTION PACKAGE

Built larger than a single print bed.

The conference-table accent arrived as a customer-supplied 3D design. At approximately 31.86 inches wide, 6.92 inches deep, and 18.13 inches tall, the piece was far larger than a single print bed and was not ready to manufacture as supplied.

Shaun Wilson Designs transformed the model into a reliable large-format printing system while preserving the recognizable hammer, scissors, and iron forms at the heart of the design.

ENGINEERING THE CUSTOMER MODEL

Eight printable parts. One dependable assembly.

The supplied STEP file was a design model, not a print-ready production package. The geometry was inspected, the practical build limits were identified, and the manufacturing plan was rebuilt around the available print volume.

The finished system divided the oversized design into eight main printable parts and used dedicated alignment pins to control registration during assembly. Split locations, connectors, and print orientation were planned around strength, surface quality, support access, machine clearance, and clean assembly.

PROOF, VALIDATION, AND REPEAT PRODUCTION

A one-off idea became a repeatable workflow.

The project began with one matte-black PLA proof of concept. After that first piece was reviewed and approved, two additional sets were produced from the proven files and process.

Prototype production and fit checks refined the separate meshes, connector geometry, print orientation, and assembly sequence. The documented version was delivered partially assembled and unfinished so the client team could complete the final integration and finish for the conference table.
